About Me – How it all Began
I trained as a classical singer in England and was sent to the former GDR on an exchange programme as part of a post-grad course.
With just basic knowledge of the German language everyday communication presented a challenge, which was coupled with trying to understand an unfamiliar culture.
After some years, a few language courses, many conversations and a wealth of mistakes, I began to find my feet and make friends. Then I came into contact with a group of people who were setting up an audio guide company and who were in need of a German – English translator and recording artist.
So I gave it a go …
It was a huge learning curve, but one for which I am very grateful.
In collaboration with the Kulturaufnahme.de I have now been translating, writing, recording, and directing audio tours since 2004.
I have also translated and edited documents, books, speeches and poems as well as some beautiful spiritual texts inspired by paintings. (see links).
